Insider Buying Strategy
Overweight names with clustered open-market insider buys and avoid heavy insider sales — a delayed Form-4 signal.
Definition
Aggregate open-market purchases (not options exercises or 10b5-1 noise if you can filter). Long clustered buys, optionally short clustered sales. The lag after the filing is part of the design. Sales are weaker signals than buys.
Why it matters
Insiders still have a residual information edge on buys. Capacity is small and the signal is sparse.
Case
A CEO 10b5-1 sale program that looks like ‘insider selling’ every month. The filter is the strategy.
How to read it
Open-market vs automatic plans, cluster rules, and delay. One small buy is not a thesis.
