Triple Moving-Average System
Use three averages so the fast/medium cross is only taken in the direction of the slow — a filter against counter-trend noise.
Definition
Example: 10 / 20 / 50. Long only if 10>20 and price or 20 is above 50. Short the mirror. The slow MA is the regime; the fast cross is the trigger. Fewer trades, more lag than a dual cross.
Why it matters
It is how practitioners stop a 10/20 system from fading a bull. The third average is a permission switch.
Case
A late-cycle equity trend: 10/20 flips short inside a still-rising 50. The filter keeps you from getting cute — or keeps you long into the real turn, depending on the month.
How to read it
Which MA is the veto. If all three must align, you have a slow system with extra parameters.
